I grew up playing sports all year long and stayed physically active once I joined the Army.  While deployed for Operation Iraqi Freedom in 2007, a buddy showed me a Mens Health article about CrossFit and we loved the idea of practical fitness and how there were workouts designed for the military.  We decided to give it a try at the base gym and we were the only guys in the gym trying all of these odd movements from what we read on CrossFit.com.  By my third deployment in 2012 to Kandahar, Afghanistan, CrossFit had grown so much that I began coaching on my down time at Kandahar CrossFit. I've always loved CrossFit for its practicality in helping me become a better and healthier Soldier, father, husband, law enforcement member, and coach.  I've also found that hardship creates the strongest bonds and there is nothing like the CrossFit Bison community to endure the hardship with.  I respect anyone that walks in the gym a second time because it shows they're humble and welcome a challenge.  I enjoy coaching because I see so much potential in everyone with that mindset and I hope to help them realize their potential.

MY FAVORITE BISON MEMORY:

Coaching and working out with Rita Scoccola.  She would workout on days where she probably just left the doctors office with bad news, but I always sensed that CrossFit and the community gave her an outlet and peace of mind.

FAVORITE CROSSFIT MOVEMENT:

I've had times in my life where all I had was a kettlebell, so anything with a kettlebell is my favorite.   Very versatile and so many applications.

LEAST FAVORITE CROSSFIT MOVEMENT:

Toes to bar.  Everyone has different proportions and this movement just isn't in my wheelhouse.

WHEN DO I NORMALLY WORKOUT AND COACH?

I coach as needed when there is a schedule conflict.

SOMETHING MOST PEOPLE DON'T KNOW

I love cookies and would put Cookie Monster to shame.
